Motorcycle rider dies in crash

A 54-year-old Georgetown man died Sunday evening after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a passenger car.
According to police, John Cibulka lost control of his eastbound Honda motorcycle and crossed the center line striking the front of a westbound blue Ford Escort at about 7 p.m. in the 2500 block of Georgetown-Greenville Road.
The motorcycle and car both caught fire.
The driver of the Escort, Chris Field, 19, of Georgetown, and a passenger were not injured.
The first responding units found Cibulka in the roadway and unresponsive, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office Combined Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene to investigate. CART was formed in 2007 to investigate all fatal crashes and those resulting in serious bodily injury which had potential for criminal charges. Team members have additional training in crash reconstruction and scene diagramming.
This crash is still under investigation, but it is not believed that criminal charges will be filed.
Other agencies assisting were the Floyd County Police Department, Indiana State Police, Georgetown Fire Department, Yellow EMS and Floyd County Coroner.
