Ernest L. Miller

Ernest Leo Miller (W9UQI), 70, Corydon, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
Born June 14, 1938 in Perry County, he was the son of the late Willard Leo and Mabel Katherine James Miller.
He was a 35-year employee and retired from South Central Bell, where he was instrumental with the installation of the ESS System for the State of Kentucky. He was also an instructor for the Bell System Laboratories for 10 years. He was a licensed Ham Radio Operator for 25 years and a past member of the Bullit Amateur Radio Society.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carolyn Sue Avitt.
Survivors include two sons, Ernest L. Miller Jr. of Corydon and James Robert Miller of Danielson, Conn.; a daughter, Jeanne M. Schwab of Louisville; a brother, Joseph E. Miller of Lexington, Ky.; and a grandson.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, both in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Douglas Phillips.
Pallbearers: Michael Schwab, Ernest Miller Jr., James Miller, Zachary A. Windell, Joseph Miller and Jack Schwab.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
