Man killed in tractor rollover
A New Salisbury man died Friday afternoon after the tractor he was mowing with slid down an embankment and rolled over.
Donald Kost, 73, of New Salisbury was cutting grass along the road about 3 p.m. when the tractor slid to the left before completely turning over, Harrison County Coroner Rusty Sizemore said.
Harrison County Highway Department employee David Deatrick noticed the overturned tractor as he drove by the area and alerted emergency authorities, Sizemore said.
Kost, a native of Corydon, was a farmer for many years, a truck driver for Celadon Trucking Co. and a member of Central Barren United Church. His funeral was yesterday (Tuesday) at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. (See obituary page A8.)
