Shirley R. Perry

Shirley Rae Zurschmiede Perry, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of the New Albany area, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at her home.
She was the daughter of Bertha Z. Johnson and the late Robert U. Zurschmiede.
She was active in the Republican party and Extension Homemakers of Harrison County, becoming state president of the Indiana Homemakers Association and later president of the Palm Lakes Resident Association in Bradenton. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church near New Salisbury.
Survivors besides her mother include her husband of 40 years, Gary A. Perry; a son, Eric Perry; two brothers, William and Marvin Zurschmiede; a sister, Lorna Harold; two stepsons, Anthony and Gary S. Perry; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation: Friday, May 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Saturday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church near New Salisbury with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Epiphany Lutheran Church, Highway 135, New Salisbury, IN 47161.
