Violet E. Richard

Violet E. Richard, 88, Corydon, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.
Born Feb. 12, 1921, in Etna, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Alice Jackson Kohser.
She was a homemaker and a seamstress, a member of Corydon Presbyterian Church, a past president and member of VFW Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary in Corydon and a past president of VFW District 8 Ladies Auxiliary.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Richard; a son, William Joe (Bill) Richard; a sister, Adella Rios; and a grandson, Jason Richard.
Survivors include a son, John A. Richard of Chesterfield, Va.; three daughters, Vera Jean Hull of McColl, S.C., Anna Jane Oller of Beechmont, Ky., and Mary Alice Peabody of Ramsey; a brother, William Kohser of Monroe, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, April 10, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 11, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday. April 11, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Scott Hill.
Pallbearers: Carl and Matthew Peabody, Phillip Oller, Gregory Hunter, David Hull and John D. Richard.
