Janet Claire Suddarth, 79, Lake Placid, Fla., died Monday, March 16, 2009, at her home.
Born Feb. 15, 1930, in Muncie, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Hazel Dickover Lewis.
She earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Miami of Ohio University, taught second grade in Cincinnati, retired in 1985 and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie, Norman and Cletis Lewis.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ermel Suddarth; two sons, Joseph Lee Suddarth of Phelan, Calif., and Daniel Ray Suddarth of Corydon; two sisters, Shirley Keever and Joyce Holder, her twin; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, March 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Friday, March 20, after 11 a.m. at Highfill Chapel Baptist Church in Taswell.
Funeral: Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at the church with burial at Highfill Chapel Cemetery.
