Clifford R. Free

Clifford R. Free, 87, Paoli, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 7:15 a.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born June 24, 1921, in Valeene, he was the son of the late Gilbert T. Free and Nellie G. Underwood Free.
He was retired as a self-employed auto mechanic, a retired bus driver for Paoli Community School Corp. and a member Harned Chapel Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Coen, Owen, Max Wayne and Howard Free.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Grace Trinkle; a daughter, Bonnie King of Paoli; a son, Jerry Free of Paoli; two sisters, Ruth Newlin of Terre Haute and Doris Stroud of Marengo; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.
Visitation: Saturday, March 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli.
Funeral: Sunday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Paoli with burial in Paoli Community Cemetery.
Officiant: Brother Harvey McAdams.
