Velva F. Mansfield

Velva Faye Walker Mansfield, 90, Depauw, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Oct. 24, 1918, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Richert Walker.
She was retired from the old M. Fine & Son Shirt Factory in New Albany and was a member of Northwest Christian Church in Depauw.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Henry Mansfield; a brother, Henry E. Walker; and a sister, Lillian Foster.
Survivors include three sons, Robert C. Mansfield of New Albany, Edgar H. Mansfield of Corydon and Samuel W. Mansfield of Louisville; five daughters, Sarah Ott of Bradford, Linda Mansfield and Elsie Holland, both of Louisville, Jane Lewis of Palmyra and Katherine Satterfield of Depauw; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Vistation: Monday, Feb. 16, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Monday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery near Lanesville.
Officiant: Brother Rick Utz.
Pallbearers: David Ott, Eddie Satterfield, Chad Lewis, and Scott, Tony and Terry Mansfield.
