Ted T. Deitsch Sr.

Ted T. Deitsch Sr., 72, Floyds Knobs, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was a founding member of the Lafayette Township Fire Department, was formerly employed by the old K&I Railroad, was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad, was active in Boys Scouts of America, was a former member of the Cardinal Ritter Council Knights of Columbus and was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Ruth M. Hess; two daughters, Peggy Jenkins and Becky Lenz, both of Georgetown; two sons, Ted. T. Jr. and Andy Deitsch, both of Floyds Knobs; a brother, Eddie Deitsch of Corydon; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 10 , from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church followed by private entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Boy Scouts of America.
