Larry A. Gettelfinger

Larry A. Gettelfinger, 67, Thiensville, Wis., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, Wis.
Born April 26, 1941, in Indiana, he was the son of Paul Vincent Gettelfinger of Corydon and the late Corinne Gettelfinger.
He graduated as salutatorian from North Central High School in Ramsey, served three years in the Army and was stationed in Korea, and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Louisville in May 1975, a diploma in brewing technology from Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago in November 1975 and a diploma in brewing technology/science from the Institute of Brewing in London, England, in December 2000. He worked 11 years at Falls City Brewing Co. in Louisville, attaining the title of assistant brewmaster, and retired in September 2002 after 24 years of service in quality assurance from Miller Brewing Co. He was a member of the Lumen Christi Catholic Church’s St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gettelfinger.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Gettelfinger; a daughter, Karen Papador of Thiensville; a son, Lee Gettelfinger of Thiensville; 10 siblings, Marilyn O’Connor of Nashville, Tenn., Stephen Gettelfinger of Louisville, Ronald Gettelfinger of Detroit, David Gettelfinger of Destin, Fla., Brian, Louis and Jerry Gettelfinger and Cathy Sherrod, all of Frenchtown, Richard Gettelfinger of Corydon and Paula Craig of Bradenton, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. at Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Mequon, Wis., followed by private interment.
The family suggests memorial gifts to a scholarship fund to be established for North Harrison High School in Ramsey.
