Celestine Phillips, 86, Pekin, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at 2:05 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born March 19, 1922, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Virgil and Pearl Duncan Pickerill.
She was a beautician for 10 years and later was employed at the Charlestown Ammunition plant where she retired.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul Phillips, three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include four daughters, Rita Elliott of Brownstown, Paula Green and Gina Perry, both of Pekin, and Shirley Holstine of Salem; a brother, Elbert Pickerill of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 20, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Thursday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Martinsburg Cemetery.
