Marching band season ends at semi-state

Harrison County’s two competitive marching bands had their seasons ended Saturday when they failed to advance from the Indiana State School Music Association’s semi-state to state.
The Corydon Central Vanguard and North Harrison Marching Cougars were two of 20 bands selected in Class C, based on school size, to compete Saturday at semi-state. Ten of those bands were chosen to advance to Saturday’s state competition, to be held in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Representing Class C, which begins at 1:05 p.m., will be, in performance order, Heritage, Scottsburg, Norwell, Angola, Western, Edgewood, Mount Vernon, Gibson Southern, Concordia Lutheran and Northwood.
Other bands competing at state are:
Class B (begins at 10 a.m.) ‘ North Side, Plainfield, New Castle, Jasper, Greenwood, Bloomington North, Northridge, DeKalb, Northview and Concord;
Class D (begins at 4:40 p.m.) ‘ Springs Valley, Clay City, Paoli, North Posey, Tri-West, Bluffton, Woodlan, Forest Park, Southridge and Lewis Cass;
Class A (begins at 7:40 p.m.) ‘ Warren Central, Center Grove, Avon, Penn, Carmel, Ben Davis, Castle, Lake Central, Lawrence Central and Homestead.
