Free spaghetti dinner tonight

Lincoln Hills Christian Church in Corydon will host a free spaghetti dinner, open to the public, today (Wednesday) beginning at 6 p.m.
Parish Deuser, financial assistant and secretary for the church, said they were lucky enough to have power restored to their building and wanted to use that to help.
‘As we all drive around, we think, ‘What can we do to help?’ ‘ she said. ‘We can’t actually get out with chain saws, but we can do this.’
The dinner will be an extension of a new Wednesday night service the church kicked off last week, which drew about 200 people, and fits with the new mission statement of the church: ‘Seeking Jesus. Studying His word. Serving the world.’
RPM, a men’s ministry at Lincoln Hills Christian Church, will have a table set up to take names of people who have storm damage. RPM, which stands for ‘real powerful men,’ has already donate time and energy to other causes in the community, including building a porch for Dion Miller, a Corydon boy stricken with multiple dystrophy.
‘The purpose is allowing people to sign up who need assistance for storm damage,’ Deuser said.
Deuser said the church thought the best way to help as many people as possible was to hold the dinner for the community, many of whom are still without power and may need a warm meal.
In addition to spaghetti, there will be hot dogs and fixings for children.
