One goal enough to top Lady Panthers

Heritage Hills scored the lone goal of the match against host Corydon Central on Aug. 26 with 17 minutes to play, blanking the Lady Panthers 1-0.
In the final 10 minutes, Corydon Central had four corner kick opportunities, but were unable to net a goal. The loss dropped the Lady Panthers to 0-3 on the season.
‘We played very well this game, as well as the Meade County (Ky.) game,’ Corydon Central coach Kyle Jones said. ‘We were the better team Tuesday. We made one error that cost us. However, these last two games have been a great start to the season so far. We have already surpassed my expectations for the pre-season.’
The Lady Panthers replaced 11 seniors to graduation off the 2007 team with 11 freshmen. The girls’ soccer program currently has 30 girls, showing the potential for Jones’ squad.
