Saturday’s heat and humidity didn’t let up in Ramsey during the day-long North Harrison Boys’ Tennis Invitational.
Ferdinand invader Forest Park won the event with three first-place finishes and 54 total points. Among the eight teams, Borden placed second with 50. Lanesville finished fourth (35), Corydon Central fifth (21), North Harrison sixth (20) and South Central seventh (four).
North Harrison’s Brian Kepley reached the finals in No. 1 singles after defeating Corydon Central’s Doug Pope and Crawford County’s Tyler Tolbert. Yet in the finals, Salem’s Logan Lilly defeated Kepley for first place overall.
In No. 2 singles, Borden’s Dalton Wagoner claimed the top spot. Lanesville’s Nick Hammond took third place.
No. 3 singles went to Forest Park’s Nathan Bromm, who defeated Borden’s Chris Howlett. Corydon Central’s Chad Conrad took third.
In doubles action, Forest Park swept No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Lanesville’s No. 1 doubles team of Chris Ehalt and Cameron Teeter finished third. Also from Lanesville, the No. 2 team of Bradley Wright and Ryan Wernert took second place.
