Robert D. Baker
Robert David Baker, 76, Depauw, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at his home.
Born Oct. 18, 1931, in Kenova, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth Murphy Baker.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, serving for 21 years, was a retired mechanic for Downtown Ford in Louisville and was a member of Milltown American Legion Post 332.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Andrea Hope Hedrick; two brothers, Gilbert and Carl Baker; and a sister, Eileen Begonia.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Baker of Louisville; three daughters, Cindy Jones of Louisville, Bobbi J. Baker of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lois A. Windell of Mauckport; two stepsons, Russell H. Marsh of Sacramento, Calif., and Roy Marsh Sr. of New Salisbury; two stepdaughters, Clema Jo Ferrell of Bryan, Texas, and Mara Conway of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Phillip Baker of Ironton, Ohio; a sister, Joyce Belskie of Worthington, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 21, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial, with military rites, in Wood’s Chapel Cemetery.
