Catherine Egger

Catherine (Katzi) Buschemeyer Egger, 73, Corydon, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008.
Born Jan. 25, 1935, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late John Byrne and Helen Catherine Sherman Buschemeyer.
Raised in the Christ the King Parish in the west end of Louisville, she went on to graduate from Loretto High School and Ursuline College. She began her 25-year teaching career at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where she was a member of the parish, shortly after moving to Corydon; she was a founding member of the Harrison County Youth Soccer Association and spent several years as a coach and referee; and she volunteered with the Harrison County Swim Team, serving many years as an official and starter.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shannon Buschemeyer Rademaker.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, C.H.F. (Fred) Egger; a brother, John Buschemeyer of Corydon; six children, Robert, Liz, Shannon and Howard Egger, Margaret Shain and Jane Boss; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Aug. 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 9, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Joseph School in Corydon.
