Jack G. Criswell

Jack G. Criswell, 78, Somerset, Ky., formerly of Palmyra, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his home.
Born Nov. 12, 1929, in Burnside, Ky., he was the son of the late Joseph Walter and Bertha Brummett Criswell.
He was an Army veteran who fought in the Korean War, earned the rank of sergeant and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and was retired from Vermont-American in Louisville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Criswell; a brother, William Criswell; and two sisters, Alese Smiley and Inez Criswell.
Survivors include his former wife, the former Mary Coleman of Palmyra; a daughter, Jan Lett of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and two brothers, Edward Elwood (Chick) and Thomas (Tom) Criswell, both of Somerset.
Funeral: Monday, June 30, at Somerset Undertaking & Crematory with interment in Somerset Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 38.
Officiant: The Rev. Gilbert Robinson.
