Norman J. Schenck

Norman J. (Popeye) Schenck, 77, Louisville, died Thursday, June 26, 2008.
He was a Marine veteran during the Korean War, was retired from E.I. Dupont after 30-plus years, was past Grand Knight of Msgr Newman Knights of Columbus, was past district deputy and past Faithful Navigator of Bouchet 4th Degree Assembly 308, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of the former St. Timothy Catholic Church in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dottie Schenck, a sister and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Oberhausen and Norma Shaw; three sons, Garry Schenck of Milltown and Raymond and Steven Schenck; a sister, Martha; three brothers, Bernard, Carl and Alvin; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: Saturday, June 28, at the former St. Timothy Catholic Church with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Ky.
Arrangements: Owen Funeral Home in Louisville.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Knights of Columbus.
