NH captures MSC golf title
The North Harrison boys’ golf team is starting to peak at just the right time. At Saturday’s Mid-Southern Conference meet at Wooded View Golf Course in Clarksville, the Cougars fired a solid 313 team score to take down conference favorite and defending champion Silver Creek 313-318.
North Harrison junior Matt Bruce was medalist, carding a season-best even-par 71. Bruce was flanked by teammate Dylan Spencer who finished second with a two-over par 73. Rounding out the North Harrison scoring were Chris Worrall with an eighth-place finish (84) and Daniel Matthews (85).
Corydon Central finished third among the 10-team conference meet with a 338. Brian Baker and Ryan Coffman shot the lowest rounds for Corydon Central, carding 84s.
In Southern Athletic Conference action, Lanesville finished a distant second to Henryville at Champions Pointe Golf Course in Henryville. Lanesville, with a total of 425, finished 49 shots back of Henryville. The Eagles were led by Andy Glomb with a 102 (T4). Rounding out the scoring for Lanesville was Bradley Wright with 103, Ryan Wernert 108 and David Kaufer 112.
South Central had two competitors in the event including top ten finisher Chance Howard with a 103. J Mathes also scored for the Rebels, firing a 116.
