Uhl returns to lead Lady Panthers basketball
A familiar face will grace the girls’ basketball sideline next season at Corydon Central High School.
Michael Uhl, who coached the girls’ basketball team for 10 years from 1996 to 2006, was appointed head coach for next season by the South Harrison Community School Corp. at the May 6 regular school board meeting.
Uhl succeeds Larry Ragland, who spent the last two season at the helm and guided the Lady Panthers to a sectional title last season.
In Uhl’s last season, 2005-06, Corydon Central went 22-2, winning the Class 3A sectional. Uhl built a solid resum’ during his 10 seasons, claiming six sectionals, two regionals, one semi-state and a state finals appearance in 2005.
At last week’s board meeting, Uhl resigned his position as Corydon Central High School’s athletic director. Ragland will remain involved in the girls’ basketball program, being accepted as seventh-grade coach for next season.
