Nellie G. Adams

Nellie Gail Fortner Adams, 89, Corydon, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Dec. 12, 1918, in Shelbyville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Gale and Nellie Summerfield Fortner.
She was a former clerk at JayC Food Store in Corydon, a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard T. Adams; a son, Billy Ray Adams; and a granddaughter, Allison Gail Adams Reed.
Survivors include two sons, James P. Adams of Corydon and Jerry T. Adams of Sellersburg; two daughters, Linda Mason of Glendale, Ariz., and Sharon Best of Corydon; a sister, Eleanor Francis Voss of Louisville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, May 11, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, both in Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Douglas Finney.
Pallbearers: Curtis Jones, Joseph Adam Stilger, Brian C. Adams, Tony Myers, Dalton Smith and Zachary Hammack.
Honorary pallbearer: Alan Jones.
