Donald A. Carter
Donald A. Carter, 80, Georgetown, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his home.
Born Oct. 2, 1927, in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Robert Dewey and Ina Lois Meriwether Carter.
He was a foreman for American Freight System in Louisville, a charter member of Georgetown Optimist Club and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nina Sharp; two daughters, Susan Laurence of Cincinnati and Carole Ann Lash of Louisville; a brother, Larry Carter of Georgetown; and four grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, May 9, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, after 9:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
Officiant: The Rev. Roy McClain.
Pallbearers: Josh and Justin Laurence, Stephen Lash, Jim Weathers, Paul Byrne and Fred Haas.
