Howard W. Scott

Howard Woodrow Scott, 91, English, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Dec. 27, 1916, in Grantsburg, he was the son of the late Edward and Iva Sturgeon Scott.
He was a carpenter, a farmer and a member of El Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a janitor, deacon, trustee, and Sunday school superintendent and teacher.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Sweepy and Beulah Gwaltney, and three brothers, Nolan, Arthur and Paul Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Wenonah Mae Scott of English; a son, Bob Scott of Ramsey; two daughters, Linda Lutz of Sulphur and Judy Hardy of Fredericksburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, March 31, at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown with interment in El Bethel Cemetery.
Officiants: The Rev. Philo Jones and Brother Scott Blessitt.
Pallbearers: Kevin and Tim Lutz, Dan and Mike Hardy, Daniel Rimmer, and Aaron, Rob and Mark Scott.
Honorary pallbearers: Mindy Jockum and Cindy Rimmer.
Pianist: Becky Walts.
