William M. Churchill

William Martin Churchill, Depauw, 82, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Harrison Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Corydon. He had suffered a debilitating stroke in 1998.
Born Oct. 9, 1925, in Depauw, he was the son of the late Raymond and Effie Routh Churchill.
He was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and rural letter carrier for 33 years from the Depauw Post Office, and a member of Milltown Masonic Lodge, Milltown American Legion Post 123 and Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Betty Jean Atkins; two sons, Robert W. Churchill of Louisville and Brian A. Churchill of Depauw; four sisters, Mary Lou Howerton, Annette Fouts and Judy Thomas, all of Corydon, and Mary Kay Adams of Depauw; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, March 27, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey and Friday, March 28, after 9 a.m. at Unity Chapel United Methodist Church.
Masonic rites: Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral: Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at the church followed by burial, and military rites, in Woods Chapel Cemetery in Ramsey.
