Gordon E. Hanger

Gordon E. Hanger, 87, English, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 9:35 a.m. at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County in Paoli.
Born July 16, 1920, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Atmer and Edna Kellems Hanger.
He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, a Navy veteran who served in World War II, the owner and operator of Hanger Equipment Co. in English for 52 years, a 17-year member of the English Town Board, and a member of Hillview Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of Masons.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Wyman, in 2004; a brother, Glen Hanger; and two sisters, Ermel Riddle and Muriel Morris.
Survivors include his wife, the former Alma Lee Armstrong; a son, Jeff Hanger of Marengo; a daughter, Stephanie Hart of Seymour; a brother, Elmer Hanger of Sellersburg; two sisters, Marylou Jackson and Jean Bradshaw, both of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; a step-grandson; a great-grandson; and a step-great-granddaughter.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 11, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 12, after 9 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.
Funeral: Wednesday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Mather’s Chapel Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Bob Kelly.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Mather’s Chapel Cemetery or Hillview Christian Church.
