Robert K. Fisher

Robert K. (Bob) Fisher, 83, New Salisbury, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at his home.
Born April 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Horace and Lindell Frederick Fisher.
He joined the Navy in September 1942 and served four years on the U.S. LST 841 during World War II; retired in 1981 from International Harvester in Louisville after 35 years of service; and was a member of Old Capitol VFW Post 2950 in Corydon and New Salisbury United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Lee Fisher and Doris Link, and two brothers, Forest and Ernest Fisher.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Irene Smith; four sons, Steve of Largo, Fla., Bruce of Ramsey, Kim of Floyds Knobs and Neil of Nicholasville, Ky.; three sisters, Wanda Williamson of New Albany, Margaret Smith of Jeffersonville and Betty Saulman of Corydon; a brother, Clifford Fisher of Corydon; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with interment in Palmyra Cemetery with military rites.
Officiant: Dr. Morris Hannah.
Pallbearers: Mike, Clinton and Jeff Smith, Randy Flick and Nicholas and Kathy Fisher.
