John H. Nance Sr.

John H. Nance Sr., 94, Greenville, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at 11:25 a.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born in Peewee Valley, Ky., he was a retired engineer from the L and N Railroad Co. and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, John Nance Jr. and Roger Nance, both of Greenville, David Nance of New Albany and James Nance of Underwood; five daughters, Joyce Smith, Dorothy Denton and Wanda Toops, all of New Albany, Mary Garrett of Greenville and Martha Sarles of Milltown; three stepchildren, Marilyn Sherrod of New Albany, Paul Mosier of Navilleton and Harold Mosier of Greenville; two sisters, Julie Keith of Clarksville and Amanda Farnsley of Cincinnati; 34 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 6, after 9 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.
