Herman E. Fleshman

Herman Elwood Fleshman, 78, Corydon, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla.
Born June 29, 1929, in New Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Herman B. and Dora B. McCarty Fleshman.
He was a retired captain and master towboat pilot from Material Services in Lockport, Ill., a member of Crandall F&AM Masonic Lodge 591, Valley of Indianapolis Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, and a Protestant.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy W. Fleshman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Violet F. Davis; a son, Todd E. Fleshman of Jeffersonville; and a granddaughter.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 11, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Masonic rites: Thursday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Wood’s Chapel Cemetery in Ramsey.
Officiant: The Rev. Jeff Reed.
Organist: Judy Albin.
Pallbearers: Roy and Terry Fleshman, Dan McMahel, Jack Patterson, and Jerry and Joshua Swarens.
