Eleanor Allen, 84, Minneola, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
Born May 23, 1923, in Valley City, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Alma Woodward.
She worked in sales in a department store in Indiana before retiring to Minneola in 1987. She was a past president of the Auxiliary 80th Division of the Veterans Association, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and South Lake Presbyterian Church in Clermont, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James S. Allen; a son, Mark S. Allen of Bowling Green, Ky.; a daughter, Patricia Schafer of South Bend; a brother, Millard Woodward of Corydon; two sisters, Virginia Lawton of Corydon and Merdith Gleitz of New Middletown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont.
Funeral: Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at South Lake Presbyterian Church followed by interment in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
Officiant: Pastor Leon Bloder.
