Leonard A. Barksdale

Leonard A. Barksdale, 97, New Salisbury, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born Nov. 27, 1910, near Ramsey, he was the son of the late Charlie and Edna Harrell Barksdale.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Virda Clunie, Hazel Moore, Mittie Davis and Nessie Eaton, and a brother, Homer Barksdale.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, the former Mary A. Rumbley; two sons, Marcus Barksdale of New Salisbury and Roger Barksdale of Palestine; a sister, Blanche Brown of Lometa, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 27, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at Unity Chapel United Methodist Church followed by burial in Wood’s Chapel Cemetery.
