Carl W. Steffen
Carl W. Steffen, 63, Jasper, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at 12:36 a.m. at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Born June 9, 1944, in Jasper, he was the son of Earl R. Steffen of Jasper and the late Dorothy McCallister Steffen.
He retired from the Jasper Post Office after working 35 years as a mail carrier, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jasper, Jasper Moose Club, Masonic Line Lodge and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Earl Steffen, who died in infancy.
Survivors besides his father include his wife of 43 years, the former Linda V. Petry; a daughter, Jody Stuffle of New Salisbury; two sons, Carl Wayne Steffen Jr. of Winchester, Va., and Douglas Wade Steffen of Cibolo, Texas; a sister, Jane Wilson of Prattville, Ala.; three brothers, John Steffen of Belleville, Ill., and Mike and Jeff Steffen of Jasper; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jasper with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
Officiant: The Rev. Larry Langer.
Arrangements: Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
