The Rev. Stanley L. Watson
The Rev. Stanley L. Watson, 93, Corydon, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born July 14, 1914, in Central, he was the son of the late John L. and Mary Meredith Amy Watson.
He was a retired United Methodist minister, a retired school teacher in Harrison and Newton counties and in Jasper, the former owner and operator of Watson’s Grocery & Hardware in Mauckport, and a member of the Indiana and National Teachers associations, Harrison County Ministerial Association and Royal Neighbors in Valley City.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former E. Pauline Lopp; two sons, John E. and Paul A. Watson; and a brother, Nelson Watson.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and Chester and Mickey Lopp and Becky Phipps, all of Corydon, who cared for him.
Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 14, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Pallbearers: Eddie Rosenbarger, Marty Wiseman, Donnie Phipps, Bryan Maggard, Jay Stillman and Donald M. Lopp.
Honorary pallbearers: Adrian and Earl Jacobs.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Cedar Hill Cemetery or Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
