Lonnie P. Bowman

Lonnie P. Bowman, 85, Taylorsville, Ky., died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at the home of a daughter.
A native of Wolfe County, Ky., he was the son of the late Jessie H. and Medgie Peck Bowman.
He was a farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Little Union Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Pauline Bennett; five brothers Arthur, Omer, Oliver, Dennie and Dewey Bowman; and a sister, India Greer.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Bowman of Taylorsville, Michael Bowman of Louisville and Lon Dale Bowman of Bagdad, Ky.; four daughters, Syble Stump and Judy Jeffries, both of Taylorsville, Sharon Wyatt of Bloomfield, Ky., and Marzetta Malone of Georgetown; three brothers, Walter Bowman of Cox’s Creek, Ky., Jessie Bowman of Mount Washington, Ky., and Dorsie Bowman of Fairfield, Ky.; a sister, Fern Taylor of Gratis, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Thursday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville with burial in Valley Cemetery in Kentucky.
Officiant: The Rev. Will Sipes.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice of Louisville.
