George T. Popp

George T. (Tom) Popp, 76, Floyds Knobs, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany.
He was a graduate of the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School, a civil engineer and professor emeritus at the Purdue University program at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, an Army veteran, a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and a 45-year member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Jeffersonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Taylor Popp and Herman J. Popp Sr., and a brother, Herman J. Popp Jr.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Colvin; three sons, Thomas Popp of Jeffersonville, Lawrence Popp of China and Gregory Popp of Florida; two daughters, Theresa Popp and Catherine Popp, both of Louisville; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery in New Albany.
Arrangements: Kraft Funeral Services in New Albany.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Providence Retirement Home or Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
