Clarksville forced to forfeit win over Corydon
Clarksville’s 40-6 victory over Corydon Central on Sept. 21 has been forfeited due to the use of an ineligible player.
Clarksville athletic director Troy Mitchell said last Wednesday that the Generals played a transfer in the Sept. 7 night game before they received his IHSAA transfer on Monday.
The player is now eligible; however, Clarksville’s win has been overturned.
The updated records for each team are now Corydon Central (2-2 overall, 2-1 in the Mid-Southern Conference); Clarksville (2-2, 1-2).
‘It’s a second chance in the conference, a break we’ve got to take advantage of,’ said Corydon Central coach Jason Timberlake.
The Panthers will get their big shot Friday when they host undefeated conference leader Charlestown at 7 p.m.
