Marching Cougars, Vanguard host season openers Saturday

The North Harrison Marching Cougars and Corydon Central Vanguard will start their marching band competition season Saturday by hosting their own competitions.
In Ramsey, the North Harrison High School Marching Band Invitation begins at 11 a.m. Scheduled to compete are Crawford County, Henryville, New Albany, Orleans, Pekin Eastern, Corydon Central, Paoli and Bloomington South.
The Marching Cougars will perform in exhibition before the awards are announced.
In Corydon, the First Capital Marching Festival begins at 6 p.m.
Bands scheduled to compete are Charlestown, Crawford County, Borden, Pekin Eastern, Silver Creek, Salem, New Albany, Bloomington South, Paoli and North Harrison.
The Vanguard will perform in exhibition prior to the awards ceremony.
There is an admission charge at both locations ($5 at Corydon) and concessions will be available at both contests.
