Larry J. Higdon


Larry Joseph Higdon, 55, Georgetown, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at his home.
He was a 1970 graduate of North Harrison High School, a Vietnam Navy veteran, a retired heavy equipment operator, an employee with International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 since 1972, and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, Blue River Saddle Club and High Caliber Sportsman Club. He bred Tennessee Walkers and led trails for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl C. Higdon, and a brother, Wallace Ray Higdon.
Survivors include two daughters, Casi Jean and Jami Marie Higdon, both of Milltown; a son, Daniel Joseph Higdon of Georgetown; his mother, Fern E. Higdon of Corydon; a sister, Connie Schneider of New Albany; three brothers, Ronnie Higdon of Quincy, Fla., Richard Higdon of Georgetown and Mike Higdon of Corydon; and his girlfriend, Vicki Brady who cared for him.
Cremation was chosen.
Memorial service: Saturday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown. Special Mass: Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.
