Doris J. Goodwin

Doris J. Goodwin, 76, New Albany, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at 6:45 a.m. at the home of her son.
Born Jan. 19, 1931, in Russell County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Cosby Roy and Delpha Chumbley Roy.
She was a former employee of the old Charlestown Ammunition Plant and a member of Pentecostal Evangalistic Center in New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Goodwin Sr.; four brothers, Duel, Teddy, James Douglas and Thomas Arvin Roy; and a daughter, Janet Jean Maluia.
Survivors include six children, Paula McDonald of Port Townsend, Wash., David and Tim Roy, both of New Albany, Paul Goodwin of Corydon, and Joe and Mark Goodwin, both of Palmyra; two brothers, Clifford Roy of Scottsburg and Dwight Roy of California; three sisters, Edna Swinford of Shelbyville, Neva Dailey of California and Lois Eskridge of Lanesville; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 5, after 10 a.m. at Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service in New Albany.
Funeral: Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Officiant: The Rev. Jenny Alstott.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Vista Care hospice.
