The North Harrison girls’ golf team has been dealing with the heat since its season began. On Aug. 15, the girls turned in a solid team score, backed by junior Allison Dooley’s one-under par 34.
Playing in their first home match of the season at New Salisbury Golf Course, the Lady Cats cruised to a 173-217 decision over rival Crawford County.
It was about 100 degrees when both teams teed off, but Dooley, who struggled through a match the week before due to the heat, put in her best effort thus far. The former state qualifier drove the ball solid, leading to a pair of birdies.
Rounding out the North Harrison scoring were Megan Woolston (44), Courtney Barr (45) and Cyndi Garrison (50). Katie Tekulve (51) and Tonya Lance (72) also participated.
Crawford County was led by Chelsea Benham’s 42. She was followed in scoring by Brandy Lewicke (54), Chelsea Barron (56) and Alecia Zehr (65).
