Virgil G. Satterfield, 87, Depauw, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at 11:15 a.m. at Indian Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born March 3, 1920, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Edmond and Rosa White Satterfield.
He was a retired crane operator at Bill Garey’s Auto Parts in Corydon, an auctioneer, a member and trustee of Temple Community Church and a trustee of Bogard Log Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Kathleen Conder; a daughter, Marie Mae Satterfield; two brothers, Arthur and Robert Satterfield; two sisters, Davie Rodgers and Crystal Felker; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, the former Juanita F. Toothman; two sons, Loren B. and Virgil E. Satterfield, both of Depauw; a daughter, Anita B. Russ of Milltown; a sister, Marie Wilfong of Logansport; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 11, at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown with interment in Milltown Cemetery.
Officiant: Brother Randy Pittman.
Pallbearers: Nick Cooper, Anthony Crecelius, Eric W. Satterfield, Junior Satterfield, Robert Green Satterfield and Virgil E. Satterfield Jr.
