Gladys C. Cooper
Gladys C. Batliner Cooper, 77, New Albany, died Friday morning, July 13, 2007, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
Born Dec. 19, 1929, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Sr. and Irene Batliner.
She graduated in 1953 as a registered nurse from St. Anthony Hospital in Louisville, earned a BSNE from Spaulding University in 1959 and an MSN from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in 1961, and held various positions in nursing administration and education from 1953 until her retirement in 1994. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, both in New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Hill, and a brother, Bernard Batliner Jr.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Hunter of New Albany, Judy Jacobi of Floyds Knobs and Earlene Montgomery of Louisville, and two brothers, Joseph Batliner of Floyds Knobs and James Batliner of Clarksville.
Cremation was chosen.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church followed by inurnment at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs.
Arrangements: Generations Funeral Home in New Albany.
