Bernard F. Gallotta

Bernard F. (Ben) Gallotta, 79, Corydon, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Jan. 10, 1928, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Filomena Cudemo Gallotta.
He was an Army veteran where he served in the military band, a retired chef, a former employee of Westinghouse Electric in New Jersey, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville and the National Culinary Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rita A. Mattingly; a brother, Angelo Gallotta of New Jersey; and two sisters, Clara Mertens and Rose Bonito, both of New Jersey.
Visitation: Monday, July 9, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Monday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Father Harold A. Ripperger.
Pallbearers: Phil Madrid, Fred Naegele, Kenneth Boone, David Stark, Norman Riley and Walter West.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
