Mary A. Pate

Mary Agnes Pate, 87, Corydon, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at her home.
Born Jan. 8, 1920, in Hardinsburg, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Carl Francis (Boone) and Blanche Jolly Jarboe.
She was a former teacher in Hardinsburg, Ky., a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Corydon and United Methodist Women, and a volunteer for several organizations, including Community Unity, Corydon Senior Citizens Center, the literacy program, Mental Health Association and the Harrison County Hospital Gift Shop.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Pate Sr.; a daughter, Roberta Pate; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Paul B. Pate Jr. of San Diego, Phillip G. Pate of Salem, Nathan D. Pate of Paoli and Michael Pate of Depauw; eight daughters, Paula Hallquist of Florence, Ky., Jan Barton of Milltown, Trish Haines, Linda Powers and Jackie Thomas, all of Corydon, Vivien Gray of Georgetown, Michelle Ludolph of San Diego and Anna Fischbach of Louisville; two brothers, Carl Francis Jarboe Jr. of Hardinsburg and Alfred Jarboe of Louisville; two sisters, Lois VonNostiz of Louisville and Mildred Bettag of Cincinnati; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, June 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Sunday, July 1, after 3 p.m. at Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral: Sunday, July 1, at 5 p.m. at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Tim Johnson.
Pallbearers: Her grandsons.
