Donald H. Goodman

Donald Hershel Goodman, 83, Jasper, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Born Aug. 27, 1923, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Clinton T. and Mary Jane Freed Goodman.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired truck driver for Spencer Coal Co., a member of VFW Post 673 in Jasper and attended Wickliffe United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Georgia Faye Goodman and Rosemary L. Montgomery, and a brother, Arthur Goodman.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Daisy Irene James; three sons, Donald R. Goodman of Birdseye, Robert C. Goodman of Huntingburg and John W. Goodman of Jasper; two daughters, Eva McCune of Jasper and Shirley S. Segert of Petersburg; a sister, Irene Drake of Corydon; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, June 25, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Funeral: Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Wickliffe Cemetery. Officiant: The Rev. Joe Hollen.
Military graveside rites: Conducted by VFW Post 673.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Wickliffe United Methodist Church.
