Brenda E. Cox

Brenda E. (Sissie) Cox, 60, Cape Sandy, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at 8:33 a.m. at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Aug. 13, 1946, in Cape Sandy, she was the daughter of Chaney Earl and Mary Hepple Cummings.
She was a nurse at Providence Nursing Home in New Albany and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dena Hill and Tracey Biever; a brother, Jimmy Cummings; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of four years, James E. Cox; a daughter, Betty Carver of Cape Sandy; a son, Michael Cummings of Humbolt, Tenn.; a stepson, Douglas Cox of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Kim Freeman-Pannett of Leavenworth; two sisters, Jean Grace of Evansville and Juanita Stewart of Leavenworth; four brothers, Alfred Cummings of English, Donald Cummings of Indianapolis, Earl Ray Cummings of Leavenworth and J.O. Cummings of Bradford; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
Funeral: Thursday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in East Cemetery in Cape Sandy.
The family suggest memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
