Samuel M. Wilcoxon, 62, Milltown, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 6:55 p.m. at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born July 1, 1944, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Evelyn E. Castetter Wilcoxon of Whiteland and the late Samuel A. Wilcoxon.
He was a 1962 graduate of Whiteland High School, served two tours in Vietnam with the Air Force, was a retired Air Force Reserve fire chief, and served with the Fire, Crash and Rescue team at Grissom Air Force Base. He was a retired federal fire inspector at Crane Naval Base, and a member of Highfill Chapel Church at Taswell and the VFW.
Survivors besides his mother include his wife, the former Donna Henderson; three children, Samuel S. Wilcoxon and Angela M. Cooper, both of Columbus, and Cherly Ann Wilcoxon of Bloomington; a brother, Robert J. Wilcoxon of Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, May 21, at 5 p.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.
Military rites: Conducated by members of VFW Post 6160 in English.
Officiants: The Revs. John Bye and Josh Trotter.
The family suggests memorial gifts to VistaCare Hospice or Highfill Chapel Church.
