Gertrude B. Wooten, 86, Corydon, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at her home.
Born Dec. 30, 1920, in Avawam, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Tug and Mary Belle Jameson Baker.
She was a retired elementary school teacher in Georgetown, and a member of the Indiana Teachers Association, Order of the Eastern Star and Corydon Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Wooten Sr.; a sister, Florence Baker; and a brother, Herman Baker.
Survivors include a son, James E. Wooten Jr. of Corydon; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 13, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Marvin Purkhiser.
Pallbearers: Gary Buchanan, Steve Smith, Bob Redden, Robert Grumieaux, Vernon Hinton and Lawrence Baker.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
