Betty Hottell

Betty Downing Hottell, 60, Loxley, Ala., died Monday, April 23, 2007, at her home after a three-year battle with bone cancer.
A native of Hardin, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Lonie and Earline Smith Downing.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University, an MBA from the University of Louisville, was a certified internal auditor as well as a certified public accountant, and was retired after a career as an internal auditor for BellSouth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Downing.
Survivors include her husband, David Hottell, a native of Corydon, and a stepdaughter, Jennifer Hottell of Bloomington.
Memorial service: Saturday, May 12, at 1 p.m. Hardin (Ky.) Church of Christ. An additional memorial service is tentatively scheduled for June 2 in Loxley, Ala.
The family suggests memorial gifts to a scholarship fund that has been established in her memory at Murray State University.
