Snodgrass out at NH

North Harrison varsity boys basketball coach Rick Snodgrass has accepted a head coaching position at Class 4A Portage in Northern Indiana, returning to his roots (he formerly coached at Twin Lakes).
Snodgrass, who coached the Cougars for eight years (going 92-79 during his tenure), will be introduced as the new Portage coach (and physical education teacher) today at 1 p.m. at the Fieldhouse section of the PHS complex.
His lifetime slate is 262-240 in 24 seasons.
The 2006-2007 effort, which ended at 3-19, was the worst mark under Snodgrass. In 2001 the Cougars were 17-4, and they went 17-5 in back-to-back campaigns in 2003 and 2004.
Snodgrass takes over for the departed Steve Bartos, who went 34-73 in five seasons at the helm of the Indians, whose best record in the past 15 tries was 14-10.
A complete story will appear in next week’s edition of The Corydon Democrat.
